Valerian (Valerian officinalis) is a herbaceous plant with pinkish-coloured flowers that is native to North America and Europe. Sometimes known as European Valerian or All Heal, it is the root/rhizome that is harvested for use in commercial preparations. Lamberts® Valerian is one of the highest strength products available in the UK. Each tablet contains 400mg extract, equivalent to 1600mg of Valerian. Practitioners frequently recommend taking Valerian one hour before bedtime.
